| When you open a cover, on each carb, you can see a little gasket near the idle speed jet.
This gasket is very important, as it avoids fuel overflow directly in the intake... These 6 gaskets have to be changed once a year (and not "once upon a time").
I'm looking to have some of another material, Green Viton instead of Black Rubber, Life and reliability to be increased...

| Hello guys, nice to see you after a year!! This would be a good set to always have if you play with such things: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Alfa-Romeo-Alfa-6-Dellorto-6-x-40-FRPA-Vergaser-Rep-Kit-/190650192778?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item2c63a3138a Jim K. | |

| Yes, i've seen it, but it seems not to offer accelerator pump diaphragms... Try by the side of eurocarbs ltd in england, the set is complete there. | |

| Yes Jim! But accelerator pumps are a bit more complicated than DRLA or IDF carb, A piston is inside with a spring, and you have to multiply per 6, plus all the other gaskets, small rings and so on... Seem like some Weber ITF or something like that...
I look for something else to replace this system to make it simpler with spring on the lever to have exactly the same function for a lower price when we change these pumps.
We can find on the market viton sheets, just to cut at the good shape. Not enough time for the moment.
I've read before that you would like to copy BMW M 3.2 lobes, but they have a variable diagram, so what do you think about that? Do you have any diagrams or drawings with informations to share? My email address in in my site "contacter l'auteur" on the left side.

| If you look at various M3 lobe profile data (Schrick catalog for example) you will see many possibilities from which to choose for the Alfa 24v application. I am very fortunate to have a good friend, the main cam grinder here in Greece. He has the Audie 'Cam Doctor' measuring setup and has hundreds of lobe profiles stored. For my proposed 3.2liter, we will select a suitable profile which will surely be hydraulic as I do not intend to go beyond ~7700rpm and around 10.5mm lift. The duration will depend on what can be accommodated with the existing 33mm followers. We will also make sure that valve lift at TDC will be such that idle will have excellent and smooth quality. As usual, it is difficult to combine excellent (civilized) low speed manners with the best possible performance...(unfortunately, our 24v does not have anything like VANOS). It will be a very good exercise as my target is more than 92-95hp/liter. So far, I have seen 90hp/liter in the 3liter engine with remapping of the std ecu. The Renault Williams 2liter cam profile is very good so far and as you know, its a 100% street (production) profile. I wanted something mild for my first 24v engine. There is also the possibility for some limited timing changes which will alter engine performance somewhat. If low speed was not important, this engine can easily exceed 100hp/liter, but the maximum possible output is not the objective in my case. But -as they say- talk is cheap.... When finances permit .... reality will come a little closer and we will be doing very interesting things! Jim K. | |

| For the moment I give money to lawyers for my divorce for my 2 children to stay with me. Very difficult. so I do each project very slowly.

| No more than 7300 RPM for my engine. It's for road (fast road) appliance.

| My 3liter 12v is also fast road application and I stop at ~7400rpm. Of course, it has better valve springs and the 'good' rockers. I would be afraid to go over 6400rpm with the old series rockers! new ones are much stronger and very reliable. Jim K. | |

| 7300 is for my 24V with peak power around 6800 / 7000.
12V will stay at max 6300 RPM. Enough torque not to go over.
I calibrate all components for thes specs... | |
